Pink Roses, a Beech and an Ocean

Poetry by a Jedi

It was January 10th 2016, and my friends and I were planning to go and see an ancient Yew tree in Alderley Edge. Unfortunately she wasn’t well that day so her husband and I walked to their local park and he showed me the 600-yr old yew tree in the gardens there.

Then we wandered around to the beech tree next door, and I was mindful of the fact she’d said “It has a beautiful Mother energy, you’ll love it”

When we spotted the flowers I wasn’t sure what to do, but he said “Well you’re “You”, you open it” and so I did - and as you can see I was thrilled!

We took the pink roses home and enjoyed relaying the story of how we’d found them - and how we’d later found a couple more hidden poems, but left them there for other people to find. Ours were the only ones that came with flowers though!

I contacted Jedi Austin and he was kind enough to meet me for a coffee and a chat about how he’d been helping some of the homeless of Manchester by getting their art and poetry displayed in a gallery, and getting them trainers or warm coats in return. Unfortunately we lost contact quite a few years ago, but that poem will stay with me forever.

channel this morning, titled “The Dolphin and the Pink Roses” I didn’t find any reference to either dolphins or pink roses, aside from the image - but it made me think of a video taken on Sunday 10th March 2024 (2 days ago!) of the self same beech tree and my (now fully recovered) friend and the dog she was walking at the time, wearing a bright pink harness...

The beech tree lost a limb in high winds over the weekend, and subsequently we’ve all sent healing to her - and this morning she’s reminded me of a joke I made at the time - and having listened to the entire speech now I’ll do it fuller justice.
“We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and Oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air. We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beeches. We shall fight on the landing grounds. We shall fight in the fields and in the streets. We shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender - and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or large part of it when subjugated and starving in our empire beyond the seas armed and guarded by the beliefs which would carry on the struggle until in God’s good time the New World with all its power and might steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old”

Ocean, you’re a treasure <3 - and Demi, so are you!
